WhatsApp’s Launched It’s Digital Payments Service in the Latest Beta Version

Facebook-owned world’s most popular instant-messaging app WhatsApp has finally launched it’s digital payments service in it’s latest beta version. Some users of India have reported this latest beta version with “payment” option. One thing to note is that WhatsApp is been working on this payments service for quite long time. After a long wait the company seems to finally launch it in it’s latest beta app version. As the “payment feature” is in the beta version, it is not available for all users. Also, the company didn’t confirmed anything about it’s official stable release.

Talking further about the “payment feature“, In 2017 WhatsApp confirmed that they’re testing this feature specifically for India. The inflated awareness and usage of digital payments in the country have forced companies to make payments more easy. Furthermore, with the launch of Government’s owned ‘BHIM App‘ has facilitated into a cashless economy. In December 2017, Google unveiled it’s new payment app ‘Tez‘ specially designed for India. The app was launched in the presence of Government of India officials. Anyways, speaking of the digital payments WhatsApp is seems to be quite slow. Although, being the most popular app and having a large user base the feature should be quite useful.

In India, you can find almost every other smartphone with the WhatsApp installed in it. In fact, India recently became WhatsApp’s biggest market with over 200 million active users per day. Also, on the New Year’s eve people of India made a new record of sending more than 20 billion messages. The latest “payment feature” of WhatsApp will be a UPI-based payment service. It is expected to work smooth as it will have the plus point of contact access to sending or receiving payments.

Last year in 2017, WhatsApp launched few new features such as video calling, live location sharing, delete for everyone, new album view, etc. Therefore, being already a powerful app WhatsApp will continue to enjoy to dominate the world of instant-messaging and now in payment world.
